Project Details

This is a startling picture of war and conflict. In Syra, life expectancy dropped due to conflict. At IHME they forecasted what life expectancy would have been without the conflict and what it was with the conflict. The drop is startling and they broke it down between men and women.

When we started the graphic, one of the questions that kept coming up was, “What countries are included in the Eastern Mediterranean Region?” We decided we needed to include that info in the graphic, and give context to Syria’s location in the EMR. The total graphic was about the EMR but this section was particular to Syria.
