Project Details

The 2015 Financing Global Health gif was created to help clarify the golden age of donating money to global health. It supplemented the annual report, Financing Global Health, which was also designed and laid out by me.

There was a time period when donations grew because of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. When the time frame for reaching the goals came to an end in 2015, the donations had already started to decline. Even though the goals were continued with the new deadline of reaching them by 2030, the financial contributions won’t support reaching the goals. This was a major theme in the 2015 and subsequent Financing Global Health reports.

FGH-2015-original chartWhen we were finished with the report and started on the social media assets I kept asking, “what is the big picture?” Above left was the original chart, with granular details about where the money came from. One of the amazing aspects of the report is how specific the data is but for sharing purposes, it was too much info. I found out that the contributions peaked and were declining, and that was the story. I simplified the graphic to reflect that.

The Goals are an amazing plan to end poverty, fight inequality, and stop climate change, that came about when great minds throughout the world got together and said, “We can do better.” Even though some of the goals seem lofty and unattainable, this is a project for humanity that I was proud to be a little part of.
