Project Details

This project was a collaboration with Rand Fishkin, Portfolio, and Penguin Random House. Rand provided me with charts that needed to be updated into the hand-drawn style. We started with several rounds of illustration ideas for what the hand-drawn charts and titles would finally end up looking like. From there, I drew out all the charts, providing some options for each one, and working down to a final. Then we moved onto the cover design. Rand had some ideas about what he wanted and I suggested a few of my own and we worked until we had some designs to present to Portfolio. From there we kept narrowing down the options until we reached a final. We tried several color schemes, icons swaps, and fonts until it was just right. This was a great experience working with everyone!
